We are fortunate to have on display the oldest known cadet coat, worn by USMA’s 500th graduate, Washington Hood (USMA 1827). Note the closed collar – it would change shape during the 1830s.
This uniform is on display in the Museum’s West Point Gallery (though we will rotate it off later this year to give it some time away from the exhibit lights). -

This is the latest photo of Hachikō, a Japanese Akita dog known for its unwavering loyalty to its owner.
Hachikō belonged to professor Eizaburo Ueno, who lived in Shibuya and taught at Tokyo Imperial University in the early 1920s.
Every day, Ueno went to Shibuya station with Hachikō and took the train to work.
