The journey from Canaan to Egypt during the time of Joseph in the book of Genesis would have been a long and difficult one, likely taking several weeks or even months.

Assuming that the journey began in the area of Hebron, where Joseph’s family lived, the travelers would have headed south through the rugged and mountainous terrain of Judah and the Negev desert. They would have followed well-worn trade routes and pathways, stopping at oasis towns to rest and resupply.

As they approached the border between Canaan and Egypt, they would have encountered a series of natural barriers, including the Sinai Mountains and the Red Sea. It is possible that they crossed the Red Sea at a shallow point, but more likely they traveled around the southern tip of the sea, which would have added several days to their journey.

Once they reached the eastern delta of the Nile River, they would have traveled north along the river to the city of Memphis, which was the capital of Egypt at the time. This would have been a relatively flat and fertile region, with plenty of food and water for the travelers and their animals.

Overall, the journey from Canaan to Egypt during the time of Joseph would have been challenging and dangerous, with many obstacles to overcome. However, it was a well-traveled route, and the travelers would have been able to rely on the support of other merchants and traders along the way.
