Bald Eagle posted in the group Sackett’s Harbor Gazette
We are fortunate to have on display the oldest known cadet coat, worn by USMA’s 500th graduate, Washington Hood (USMA 1827). Note the closed collar – it would change shape during the 1830s.
This uniform is on display in the Museum’s West Point Gallery (though we will rotate it off later this year to give it some time away from the exhibit lights).
